Where applications go wrong, and what we check
- Ignoring the pipeline or the outfall. Associated facilities in the zone need clearance too.
- Using an unofficial map. Only the approved Coastal Zone Management Plan answers the zoning question.
- Treating EC as CRZ clearance. Environmental clearance, planning permission and pollution consent do not answer the coastal question.
- Applying 2019 labels too early. The 2019 categories apply only with the approved district plan.
