Fire NOC
TNFRS's clearance of the fire-safety design, from the District Officer or, for multi-storeyed buildings, the Director.
Fire Licence
Issued after the licensing inspection confirms the building matches the approved fire plan.
Renewal
Continued operation depends on a current licence, not on the original approval.
Revised NOCs
Where the building or layout changes after the NOC.
Petroleum installations
Where TNFRS and OISD requirements meet.

Where applications go wrong, and what we check

Treating fire as a high-rise issue. The building rules bring every industry and warehouse within the fire-protection requirements, whatever its height.
Taking the NOC too late. Where fire clearance is a precondition of planning permission, getting it afterwards means reworking approved drawings.
Site changes without a revised NOC. The licensing inspection checks the building against the approved fire plan; unapproved changes are the commonest reason for rejection.
Letting the licence lapse. Or blocking escape routes and fire equipment with stored material between inspections.
