Petroleum and diesel storage
DG set and boiler fuel, bulk tanks and captive fuelling: Forms XIV, XV and XVI under the Petroleum Rules.
LPG and gas vessels
LPG bullets and bulk nitrogen, oxygen, CO2 and LNG tanks under the SMPV(U) Rules.
Gas cylinders
Cylinder banks, industrial gas stores and filling plants under the Gas Cylinders Rules.
Explosives and ammonium nitrate
Licences by activity under the Explosives Rules and the Ammonium Nitrate Rules.
Amendments, renewals and transfers
A new tank, more quantity, another product or a new layout, a renewal before expiry, or a transfer after a sale.
Where applications go wrong, and what we check
- The wrong licence for the product. Diesel, LPG, cylinders and explosives each have their own rules, and methanol and ethanol are regulated as petroleum too.
- Changing before approval. A new tank or vessel, more quantity or a new layout needs approval before the change, then an amended licence.
- Outgrowing the licence. Crossing a threshold, such as Class C beyond 45,000 litres, needs a new licence, not an amendment.
- Treating PESO as the only approval. PESO runs beside TNPCB consent, the fire NOC, DISH approval and district NOCs, each renewed on its own date.
