D.L.2 licence
Methanol, denatured spirit or methylated spirit possessed or used as such, from the Commissionerate of Prohibition and Excise.
R.L.4 licence
Rectified spirit or absolute alcohol for industrial, non-potable use.
PESO storage
Ethyl and methyl alcohol are regulated as inflammable substances under the Petroleum Rules.
MSIHC obligations
Where hazardous-chemical thresholds are reached.
Where applications go wrong, and what we check
- Treating the products as one. Ethanol, rectified spirit and denatured spirit are not interchangeable, and each points to a different licence.
- Excise or PESO, not both. A State excise licence does not replace PESO's requirements, or the other way round.
- Filings that do not match the plant. The tank layout, capacity and process description must match the installation.
- Confusing use with manufacture. These possession and use licences do not authorise a distillery.
